GIANLUCA DE LEO PhD MBA

Dr. De Leo received an MS in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genova (Italy) in 1999, a Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Bioelectronics from the University of Genova (Italy) in 2003, and an MBA from Saint Louis University, Saint Louis in 2005.

After completing his postdoctoral training at the School of Public Health at Saint Louis University in Saint Louis, he was a research scientist at the Department of Chemistry at Washington University in Saint Louis.

Dr. De Leo is the Chair of the Clinical and Environmental Health Sciences department at Georgia Regents University.

Dr. De Leo was involved in several projects related to e-health, biomedical informatics and virtual reality, which were funded by the Italian Ministry of Health, the European Commission and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Dr. De Leo's research projects are related to the design, development and assessment of various e-health systems such as an automated telephone call center for the education and monitor of patients with diabetes, a game based virtual environment for helping children with cerebral palsy to walk on a treadmill, and a technology for increasing the communication skills of children and adults with severe autism.
